At Sydney Health Professionals we offer professional diagnosis, management, rehabilitation and hands on pain relief for work place accidents, injuries, repetitive strain conditions and more. We also offer professional treatment for employees covered under the Workers Compensation Scheme under WorkCover in NSW.
Osteopathy is a primary health care profession and our Osteopaths can manage the entire claiming process without a referral from a G.P. For some injuries, however, a G.P. can be very useful in supporting the worker and offering support with symptoms and accessing additional services. We will request that you see your G.P. if we think this is the case with your injury.
Process for accessing Osteopathic and Massage Therapy treatment under the WorkCover System
If you have been injured at work, please notify your employer. They will have their own internal injury reporting systems and they will notify their workers compensation insurer who will issue you a claim number.
You can make an appointment with an Osteopath at Sydney Health Professionals as soon as you have this number. Osteopaths are primary health care practitioners and can initiate management without referral.
However, if the injury is significant and recovery is going to take some time, it can be beneficial to see you G.P as well. Inform them that you are seeing an Osteopath of your choosing and we will liaise with them to inform them of our treatment plan.
We will also inform the insurer and will bill them directly. Your only role is to make sure you get all the information and care you need to make a full and speedy recovery.
If you think we can help with your work related injuries, please don’t hesitate to contact us at online@sydneyhealthprofessionals.com.au or by calling 1300 067 836 and asking to speak to our staff.

What to expect from your Osteopath
An Osteopath is an excellent choice to seek out for professional care for back pain. If you are worried or suffering with your back, an Osteopath will walk you through a professional diagnosis, discuss any evident risk factors, provide some therapy for real symptom relief and then discus remedial exercises, stretches and harm minimisation strategies.
